The “Jesus Film” has been a powerful tool of evangelism. Those who have
never seen it are often overwhelmed by its impact. The story of Jesus is so compelling. And those who have not seen it and are curious, certainly convinced that a mere film would have such power, are sometimes unprepared for the positive reaction.

It may be the uniqueness of the gospel, now so familiar to us, that we fail to see how different this Christian faith is from others. Africa is so open to the gospel. In one African village, missionaries knew their screen would be too small, so they requested permission to show the film on the outside wall of the Muslim Mosque. It was the largest wall in the village. And, it was a way to attract a
crowd to the mosque or so thought the Imam. That night, hundreds of Muslims say the film and decided to follow Jesus Christ. Up until that night, there was not a single Christian family in the whole village.

The prayer time that followed the showing of the film resulted in so much liberty and freedom from demonic powers that other villagers began to turn to Christ as well. In 5 days, 2000 Muslims had become Christians. Five churches were planted to help the people develop and understand their newfound faith.
